The goal of the project

The goal of the project was to enlighten a place we chose with lighting we imagined and thought of to be the most suitable for the chosen spot.

We first had to think of the specifications of the project and then we could start drawing something.

The lighting system must :

Be suited to a lot of people walking by
Respect a modern architecture
Give a sense of security to the users
- Have sufficient but not dazzling lighting.
- Have uniform lighting without unlit dark areas
Be respectful of the environment (energy & construction)
- If possible be powered by renewable energies
  - Can be powered by solar energy
- If possible be made from recycled materials
- Respect wildlife by avoiding excessive light pollution as much as possible
  - Has to not shine towards the sky
- Use LEDs
  - Possibility of using RGB LEDs to vary the light intensity and temperature
Be pleasant to look at and live with
Have a tough build
- Being able to withstand bad weather
  - Have a minimum ingress protection index IP55
- Resist potential low intensity shocks
